We are creative, fast-working and encourage collaboration. Our Directorate has a vital role in delivering HMRC’s brand and setting the direction and tone of communications in the department. We support delivery of business objectives through effective communications and engagement.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced writer and editor to join HMRC’s new Integrated Campaigns Team. We work with teams across HMRC and across government to deliver impactful campaigns which help the department to: continue collecting the right tax each year; pay out vital support to citizens; and become a trusted, modern tax and customs authority. Working closely with colleagues in Marketing, Creative Services and Brand, the successful candidate will help to develop insight-driven messages and will craft copy for content on both internal and external communications channels.? As a copywriter at the heart of the Communications Directorate, they will translate HMRC’s messages into easily understood and engaging content, ensuring our communications make a difference to people’s lives. Skilful writing is needed to create effective material – from scripts for explainer videos which make a daunting application process simple, to accompanying text for social posts which will catch our audience’s eye, or a clear call to action which drives behaviour change. If you’re a creative thinker with excellent writing skills, and would thrive in a busy, cross-functional communications team then this is the job for you.
